So I know its very personal, but I have been listening to Sam's podcasts for years. I think that helped me in trusting him to go on this journey. I did try other meditation apps, but they all felt very woozy and empty to me. With Waking Up I feel like I am really understanding. The app itself has great material and the way it is set up keeps you going back. You need self discipline, like with everything elsr, but the 10 minjte sessions and clear motivational lessons in between are very helpfull.

Mostly great meditation sessions (now 50 in total). The app works flawlessly, I like the 10 minutes a day format and Sam's voice and guidance. Some meditations didn't resonate with me, such as the ones about "looking for the subject who is looking" (there kind of is none) or "turning attention on itself" (how the heck I am supposed to do that?). I didn't get it. Anyway, probably can't expect every type of meditation concept to work well personally.

I've been using the app a short while now and I'm very excited about it. The difference I've noticed between Waking Up and other meditation apps, is that Waking Up offers a clear guided path that is aimed at sustainable growth. As Sam tells you himself, the app is meant as a companion on a path towards a more meaningful and fulfilling life. Other meditation apps I've used have helped me also, but Waking Up offers more than just meditations. It aims at guiding, but also teaching how it all works.
