Digital Wellbeing is a decent app with a few useful features. I like that it has a Focus mode, which lets you hide notifications from distracting apps — that can really help with staying on task. The screen time reminders are also helpful, since they show you how much time you're spending on certain apps. Overall, it's not the best app out there, but it's not bad either. Just an alright tool for managing your phone habits.

The 5 star reviews are just Google related Google staff pretending to be real people, it's very intrusive, using your data for marketing and profit, this app isn't worth having, I can manage what I do with my phone for when I want to or not. I don't need reminders telling me how long I'm on an app. every five mins, is ridiculous. It knows what apps you're using, what you're doing on your phone etc. etc Not cool.

Yes, this thing uses a lot battery and not all people need a spyware looking over their shoulders. But also yes, you can stop it. Just you need to remove permissions in *TWO* places: Android settings and inside the app. Since its a core app, it has direct access to settings too. If you see a complain that it can't work because you denied all permissions, then you had deactivated it correctly.
